How To Build A Bridge Page

Trying to find your way around platforms such as Facebook or Instagram, can be difficult. They have a set of arbitrary rules that seemingly change every day of the week and can cause havoc when it comes to building adverts for Affiliate products.

This is where the power of bridge pages come into effect and how they can help you even if you don't manage to close a sale.

This article is designed to give you the steps you need to build a bridge page, if you are looking for specific platforms, then check out the articles that explain it per platform.

What Are Bridge Pages?

They are essentially single pages that are designed to either;

Provide context or 'pre sales' material about a particular product

Or

Capture a potential customers email, before sending them to the offer

Or

Both.

Yeah, sorry there was a third.

The whole purpose is to warm those people up and to capture their email, allowing you to send follow up emails and sequences, designed to remind them of the product that they have just missed out on.

They are also useful for advertising via social media, due to the fact many urls such as ClickBank or JVZoo have been spammed across the internet so much, the domains themselves have been blocked. Hence why ClickBank offer the ability to cloak URLS and the reason JVZoo's links all look like random letters and numbers with an even more confusing domain name.

How Easy Is It To Create A Bridge?

Honestly, they are super easy, and can be created within just a few minutes with the right tools, or even the right platform.

Most online builder platforms have the ability to create bridge pages, some call them landing pages, but they are basically all the same thing (if we are being super simple about this).

What Is The Best Software To Create A Bridge Page?

There is really no 'best software' or 'best platform to create a bridge page' on, it's all down to preference and what you have access too, plus in a way budget.

Thrive Architect

If you already run a blog and use Thrive Architect, then you have the ability to quickly import ready built landing pages.

Simply open the pages tab on the backend of WordPress, open with Thrive Architect and then change the template. They offer a large vareity of types, colours and even designs depending on what you are trying to achieve.

For example if you are trying to warm leads up about a new software launch, you can give them a bit of information before sending them to the offer page. Or if you are directing customers to a webinar, you can again give them a bit of information and then ask for an email os that you can send webinar details.

It's always worth thinking about what questions the product page you are sending them too asks for. If they ask for an email, then potentially leave that part out of your landing page and just provide some warm up text and a button to direct them off.

The email integration may be less than other platforms, but the majority of the main ones are provided such as Aweber and GetResponse, but more obscure ones you may struggle with.

BuilderAll

Usually seen as a funnel builder, BuilderAll also comes with a number of templates designed to capture emails or provide warm up copy before passing potential buyers off to the offer.

You can use their funnel builder templates to set them up, or use the Cheetah page builder or Pixel Perfect tool to find something that suites your style.

The platform does make it quite easy to integrate with email responders, as well as their own in house auto responder MailBoss.

ClickFunnels

One of the most famous single page builder platforms, ClickFunnels has made a name for itself in the funnel builder space.

As with the other platforms, ClickFunnels allows you to use templates or share funnels from others to design and build your landing pages. Obviously by nature ClickFunnels is built to guide people through complex funnels and offer upsells or downsells and one time offers, but for you, you just need the clean and easy to build landing pages.

The easy integration with auto responders is great, you can quite quickly be set up with the email provider that you have chosen, with the correct list and be ready to go within just a few minutes, especially if you have found a share funnel or similar already.

LeadPages

A lot like the others, LeadPages allows you to quickly and quite easily create capture pages, bridge pages and of course landing pages, without the pain of having to play around with html or other annoying code.

LeadPages thankfully allow you to choose from their own library of templates, or start from scratch, it all depends on how adventurous you are.

What Do You Need On A Bridge Page?

As I cheekily pointed out earlier, there are two trains of thought when it comes to the type of information you should have on a bridge page, and it does come down to what type of offer you are promoting, what the others landing page has on it and what your overall outcome is.

Simple Email Capture

For those who feel that the potential customers heading towards the offer are not going to purchase on the first view, or if the page that they are being forwarded too does not capture emails, then a simple capture form may be the way to go.

With minimal information, such as zero to no copy other than a potential captivating headline, these types of pages are great for grabbing that email and then sending them onward towards the offer in question.

If the offer you are promoting doesn't capture emails on exit or anywhere on the offer page, then this method is a great way to try and up your potential commissions by reminding people about the offer, at no extra cost to you.

How To Build A Bridge Page

Warm Up Copy

Once in a while you come across offers that only allow you to send potential customers straight to a check out page, or even a video sales letter page (VLS), these types of offers can be more difficult to convert with, as people don't want to sit through a video to find out what the offer is, or they need some kind of information before having a checkout page thrown in their face.

For this, you can create bridge pages that contain warm up copy, essentially pre-sales text designed to explain what the product on offer is all about, how it can help them and how you may (or may not) have a cool special discount for them to enjoy.

It's designed to only send the ones who are really wanting the product to see the next page, for those who get bored reading the sales text or decide the product isn't for them won't go any further.

Quite a useful metric, as you can re target those who fire 'checkout' pixel to see if they have actually purchased the product or not.

Utilising Both

If you are a bit unsure about how well an offer page might convert, or if you simply want to be able to email potential prospects yourself, then having a mix of both sales copy and email capture give you the best of both worlds.

People using this method will want to add at least 3 separate email capture points, usually top, middle and bottom, depending on the length of sales copy.

Conclusion

Using bridges pages is a sensible move when trying to capture leads or sending potential customers to offers via social media sites such as Facebook or Instagram.

There are a number of ways to build bridge pages, ranging from using stand alone funnel or page builders (BuilderAll / ClickFunnels) , to using plugins such as Thrive Architect
